16-Bit EPROM Emulator | ||
IntroductionThis is a EPROM emulator that can emulate a 16-bit device or two 8-bit devices in parallel such as a pair of 27C040s. It has 16K of emulation memory and an open collector reset output to reset the target system. The RAM is dual port and can be asynchronously updated by the host without disturbing the target system, and an optional connection allows the target to write back into memory for bidirectional communication. Project statusThis was a challenging project to assemble as all parts are surface mount, notably the PLCC socket which required a special layout on the board to facilitate soldering it in place manually. See the 8-bit EPROM/SRAM emulator project if you need support for 8-bit devices exclusively. Files
